SORN CASTLE

Sorn Castle is set in over 8,000 acres of varied and rolling landscape that includes farmland, moorland, wetland and woodland, providing challenging and exciting drives in a spectacular setting. The shoot is fast becoming internationally renowned for its sporting and first-class hospitality, just 45 minutes from Glasgow Airport.

Driven and walked up days are available, as well as fishing on the River Ayr.
DRIVEN DAYS
A driven day provides eight guns the opportunity to shoot pheasant, partridge and perhaps duck on some excellent drives, with bags of between 100 – 250 bird days.
As well as enjoying the scenery and challenging sport, your day will include homemade elevenses and a hearty lunch which is served in the castle. After the last drive, the party will return for tea and cake whilst the bag is being counted and the guns cleaned, ready for your sweep to be announced at the end of the day.

WILD DAYS
Sorn Estate has a well-established reputation for providing good quality rough shooting. This sport is typically enjoyed by those people that have an appreciation for the outdoors and who enjoy a good walk for their quarry.
A typical day will combine walking rough ground and covets across the Estate, flushing snipe from bogs or ponds and hunting woodcock through woods. A mixed bag of pheasants, partridge, duck, snipe and woodcock can be achieved. Refreshments and food can be arranged to keep your party going.

Salmon, Sea Trout and Brown Trout fishing on one of the most picturesque parts of the River Ayr.

ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation can be arranged in the Castle; a fine family home with a relaxed atmosphere. Guests can be accommodated in 12 luxurious bedrooms, all uniquely decorated with superbly comfortable beds, crisp white linen, deep down duvets and soft pillows. Formal areas are the perfect place to relax by roaring fires, taking in the views over the Park and River Ayr. Accommodation is offered fully catered.
